Medicinal Crops

Plants Having Well Researched Medicinal Activities with Potential for Commercial and Home Use

Perennial and annual medicinal plants of appropriate species are highly suited for commercial and home systems.  This also includes the culinary herbs such as Oregano and Rosemary with significant medicinal qualities.

Many species have well researched activities in botanical medicine, useful for a wide range of disorders, prevention of chronic disease, and for improving health.  Maintaining a family "living family pharmacy" is crucial to have diverse and safe remedies available at all times.

Some medicinal crops offer high profit potential for existing and new markets, for both fresh and value added processing, and many are adapted to desert and dryland conditions. Post harvest processing methods include dehydration, juice, concentrates, powders, tinctures, and liquid plus dry extracts.

For family use, please see The Living Pharmacy. LBCAS can assist medicinal crop growers with all aspects of cultivation, marketing, and post harvest processing.
